Kanto Corporation, the world's leading supplier of ultra high-purity process chemicals and engineered chemical systems, announced today the receipt of an award to enhance the manufacturing capabilities of a large ASIC manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. Kanto has engineered a system to blend and dilute two inorganic chemicals onsite, effectively replacing the more hazardous, organic solvent previously used for polymer removal. The product produced by this system is an environmentally friendly, less expensive alternative to traditional hydroxylamine-based strippers. The inorganic chemicals used in the process are commonly available electronic chemicals used in wafer processing. Kanto engineered this blend/dilution system to fit within an existing fab. The self-contained system includes both a storage and mixing tank, and is hard plumbed to receive chemical and DI water from chemical dispense units installed by Kanto several years ago. An auto titrator measures all constituents of the blend to within 0.005% by weight. Although the blend created is specific to this customer's needs, the system can easily be programmed for a different blend. The unit is PLC controlled, features both a color touch screen and a titrator panel.
