- Press Release - December 13, 1999 Portland Oregon: KANTO EXPANDS PRESENCE IN U.S. ADDS NEW FACILITY FOR CHEMICAL DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT AND IMPLEMENTS SAP THROUGHOUT U.S. OPERATION. Kanto Corporation, the world's leading supplier of ultra high-purity process chemicals, chemical systems, and related services, announced today expanded U.S. facilities. Kanto recently leased a larger site to consolidate and house Kanto's professional engineering group and chemical distribution systems manufacturing. Previously the engineering office and equipment fabrication facilities were physically separate. The Kanto sales and engineering groups are now located at 12905 NE Airport Way in Portland, close to both Kanto's primary manufacturing facility and the Portland airport. The new location is currently approximately 12,000 square feet and includes three (3) Class-1000 cleanrooms. Kanto designs, engineers and installs a full product line of chemical distribution systems, waste collection systems and blending and dilution systems; the on-site cleanrooms are being utilized for equipment fabrication, parts cleaning and equipment testing. In a related move, Kanto recently implemented System Applications and Products (SAP™) software throughout their U.S. operation. This state-of-the-art software will enable Kanto to streamline production planning and improve service to its domestic customers. Kanto went "live" with SAP™ on November 1, and is very pleased with its results. Not only is Kanto the world's leading supplier of wet process chemicals to the semiconductor industry, but they are the only supplier offering its customers a point-of-use purity guarantee at sub-ppb levels. Kanto plans to continue their U.S. expansion to continuously enhance service to domestic customers.
