KANTO AWARDED TWO SEPARATE CONTRACTS FOR HYDROFLUORIC ACID DILUTION SYSTEMS.

Kanto Corporation, the world’s leading supplier of ultra high-purity process chemicals and engineered chemical systems, announced today the receipt of contracts for the design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation of HF dilution systems at two world-class chip manufacturers in the United States. One of the systems is designed for small volume (approximately 20,000 gallons/year), the other for large volume (approximately 250,000 gallons/year) usage. Kanto will supply both customers with the concentrated (49%) HF for dilution.

Both systems are being custom engineered to fit within existing rooms. They will follow Kanto’s standard design philosophies for modularity, PLC control, and complete automation while maintaining flexibility and ease of maintenance. System performance has been guaranteed to maintain ppt-level purity at the point of use and provide dilution accuracy to better than 0.01% without an auto titrator.

The smaller volume unit will create both 10:1 and 100:1 within the one unit. In addition, the unit is easily adjusted for different dilution ratios. It is a small-footprint, fully contained unit with internal product storage; there are no external tanks. HF and DI water lines go in, and diluted product ready for use comes out. Even with the small volume, this unit will pay for itself in less than one year.

The larger unit will handle an average production of 11,000 liters per day and will blend 1% HF from 49% HF and DI water. The cost savings the customer will realize with this unit over purchasing pre-diluted material are significant; the unit will pay for itself in less than six months.
